Iowa authorities are searching for a missing teenage girl they believe was kidnapped. Her family released a statement to the public.

The teenage mother, accused of dumping her newborn on the side of road in Toulon, Ill., has pleaded guilty to charges in the case.

Back in October, 19-year-old Kendra Meaker reported that her baby girl had been kidnapped from her car as she ran into the post office. An Amber Alert was issued and law enforcement officials, along with members of the community, searched for the baby. About 12 hours later, 3-week-old Mia Thompson was found alive in the ditch of a rural road.

In Stark County Court Friday, Meaker entered a guilty plea to obstruction of justice, destroying evidence and endangering the life of a child. Sentencing is scheduled for March 8.
