Watching winter sports competitions raises one big question, how do those athletes practice those gravity defying twists and turns in the air?
They often land in an air bag off the jump, and one of those air bags will be in the Quad Cities for the next nine days.
There's not many ways to try gravity defying tricks without gambling on a broken bone. Unless you have somewhere soft to land.
US Airbag manager Das says, "(It) gives an opportunity for both the beginner to have some confidence and try a trick without landing on hard pack snow, but also lets the seasoned athlete try some things he's been wanting to for a long time in a safe environment."
That opportunity is here at the Snowstar Winter Sports Park. Where the company has set up one of its bags for the week.
"What you can focus on is the trick and not the safety of how your landings going to go," says Das.
Allowing Snowstar daredevils to take flight.
US Airbag charges it's own fee to take on the jump at Snowstar.
