Galesburg police have arrested a man on murder charges in a weekend stabbing. Kia Lefler of Oneida, Ill. is charged with murder and aggravated battery in the death of Robert Kilgore of Galesburg.
Police were called to a disturbance near Kilgore's home on Chestnut Street around 12:30 a.m. Jan. 20. That's where they found Kilgore with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a Galesburg hospital and transferred to another hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Later that morning, officers found Lefler in the 200 block of Lake St. in Galesburg and took him to the police department where he was charged.
