The results are in on the annual Quad Cities Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard holiday weekend event. Every year, the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau encourages special events and promotions during the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday weekend.

According to the QCCVB, 175 hotel rooms at 16 participating hotels were booked specifically for the promotion. Other businesses reported good turnout. There were over 250 people at a special event held at the Moline Public Library. Snowstar reported its best year for activity and over 2,400 visited the John Deere Pavilion.

The Mississippi River Distillery had over 250 people take a tour, and Isabel Bloom had to add a third production tour on Saturday because the first two sold out. Also, the Quad City Mallards reported a record-setting weekend with over 13,000 fans. That's the largest attendance for consecutive nights for the hockey team since 2004.
