Measuring Up The Muscle At Local Arm Wrestling Competition

Updated: Feb 1, 2013 10:28 PM CST

A lot of arm curls and bench presses or whatever it takes to prepare the strength needed to be an arm wrestling champion. That's what dozens were vying for Friday night at the Clubhouse in Bettendorf.

The competition of muscle matchups is for a USA championship qualifier and they were shooting for the reality TV show "American Armwrestling"

"Doing this almost 15 years and most of these guys veterans, to have it come back to the quad cities is huge," said 15-year veteran Chris Hintgen.

"If you think you can win or what you think they're going to do or not do and you can anticipate it. Then performing on the table it just icing on the cake," he added.

There was $1,500 in prize money up for grabs for those that muscled their way to the top. Winners go to the USA qualifier in Wisconsin in June.
