Quad City area police say they have made a couple of arrests in a rash of break-ins on both the Illinois and the Iowa sides of the river.

Among those hit were several businesses in Milan, Ill., which started reporting burglaries in December of 2012.

Thieves took stereo equipment and printers. In all, a couple thousand dollars worth of items were stolen.

On January 1, 2013, police arrested 18-year old Christian Hicks in the investigation of burglaries which occurred on Brady Street in Davenport.

It was then determined he was also involved in the Milan burglaries.

Hicks is being charged with three counts of 3rd degree burglary in Davenport as well as one count of residential burglaries and five counts of burglaries in Milan.

Another teen, 19-year-old Ashante Needs of Rock Island, Ill., was also arrested about a week ago. Needs is being charged in Milan with three counts of burglary and three counts of theft. Charges in Rock Island, Ill., are also pending.
