She uses pipe cleaner, poker chips, popsicle sticks. Almost anything that can be stuffed into a balloon. Patti Altobelli of Orion is a balloon artist. What's so interesting is that the balloons are not inflated.
Patti was inspired after attending a convention in Chicago a few years ago. She special orders balloons that are thicker, have good elasticity, and are extremely durable.
She chooses the colors, and some of her finished products are extremely creative. A clown, Easter bunny, underwater scene, and Michael Jackson are a few samples of her work.
Patti says she gets many of her ideas from pictures or things she finds to be funny. She also makes slap bracelets. One of her favorite creations is a tiki bar. It took Patti about twelve hours to make that.
Altobelli started making non inflatable balloon art two years ago. Patience and creativity help as she strives to end up with a gallery, bursting in beautiful balloons.
