A Park View woman has been charged with a child abuse related charge.

Daveshia Antionette Morgan, 23, is accused of striking her 5-year-old child repeatedly with open hands, closed fists and a belt causing multiple non-life threatening (bruising) injuries.

The investigation began Wednesday, February 6th after the Sheriff's Office and Department of Human Services were contacted by school officials from the Neil Armstrong Elementary School in Park View. The school officials noticed the injuries to the child.

Morgan was taken into custody on this date and transported to the Scott County Jail where she was held on a $ 5,000.00 bond.

The case remains under further investigation.
