The name of the individual pulled from the Mississippi River near East River Drive and McClellan Blvd is David Howard Compton, age 50, a resident of Davenport, Iowa.

There was no "missing person" or "attempt to locate" report on Mr. Compton and he was identified by fingerprints.

As of this time, police have not received any information or results from the autopsy.

A person jogging on the bike path made the discovery Tuesday around 8:24 a.m., the body was about 10 yards from the shore.

Police confirmed it was a man who was fully dressed and said he had been the water for some time. Police say the man did not have any id on him so they will rely on fingerprinting and checking the missing persons data base to find out who he is.

Police also told TV6 News that there were no noticeable signs of foul play.
