They are great companions. Steve Kiewiet of Park View says these four legged friends certainly brighten his day. Roxie and Angel are Steve's dogs, also nicknamed Salt and Pepper.
Roxie is a Miniature American Eskimo. A 35 pound bundle of fur with an attitude. Steve performs tricks with her, often getting Roxie to dance for a peanut.
Angel is a Black Labrador. Cool, calm, and collected. The two dogs get along fine. Roxie loves to bark. Angel is laid back. The pets have certainly brought some stability to Steve's life.
Kiewiet has acute ringing in his left ear. He says it can be debilitating, and it works on a person's psyche. Steve has visited a number of doctors over the last nine months, and says nobody has any answers. He has not lost any hearing in his ear. However, the ringing is very annoying. Millions of Americans suffer from a similar condition to some degree.
So, throwing a ball to Angel in the yard, or teaching Roxie how to dance, give both the dogs, and Steve a purpose. Angel and Steve are just about inseparable. Roxie loves to play dress up.
Steve's wife, Sue, says in their own special way, the dogs are personality plus and good therapy for Steve. Playing with the pets helps take his mind off of his ailment. Proof that dogs can be a man's best friends.
