The Hilltop Campus Village in Davenport is an area that has been growing and evolving for the past three years, and Tuesday a special meeting and training session was held to help keep that momentum going.

People that are part of the Hilltop development group met with leaders from Main Street Iowa and others from surrounding communities. Main Street Iowa is a program that gives cities technical support to help leaders there revitalize struggling neighborhoods. The programs provides everything from architects to demographic surveys to training sessions.

The meeting focused on training volunteers so they can keep the progression in the Hilltop area going. It also helped raise awareness about everything the Hilltop Campus Village has accomplished. Currently there are new apartments and commercial spaces under construction in the area. Ascentra Credit Union also recently announced they are coming to the corner of Locust and Brady.

Reps from Eldridge, Burlington, and Central City were there to learn how a similar program could benefit their towns. Potential developers were also there. An open house was held after the meeting.
