Updated:

President Barack Obama has arrived in his hometown of Chicago for an afternoon speech.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel greeted the president Friday afternoon when Air Force One landed at O'Hare International Airport. Obama was accompanied by a large portion of the Illinois congressional delegation. He took Marine One to the city's South Side, where he is scheduled to give an address at Hyde Park Academy.

Obama spokesman Josh Earnest says before the president speaks he plans to meet with students involved in a youth anti-violence program. The president is expected to address gun violence and other issues during his address.
