Budget cuts are coming to the Sherrard School District which could include some staff positions.

About two dozen teachers turned out Monday night, February 18, 2013, to talk to the school board's finance committee.

The meeting was a chance for staff members to share their thoughts on the budget problems.

Those whose programs or positions have been identified as possible targets had strong opinions.

Sherrard School District is short about $600,000 for next year and Sherrard School board President, Dr. Tim Arbet, tells KWQC all options have to be on the table.

"We're short. Revenues are dropping, so every district is looking at how to maintain the services for the kids with a fixed and diminishing amount of money."

The school board will vote Wednesday on whether to make cuts and roughly by how much.

Board members will also come up with a final list of budget cutting proposals to be voted on at their next meeting in March.
