RI Council Approves Move Of BHC Adult Learning Center

Updated:

The Rock Island City Council took a step forward on Monday night, February 18, 2013, with their plans to bring a Super Walmart to the Watchtower Plaza.

Aldermen approved spending over two million dollars in TIF money to move Black Hawk College's Adult Learning Center to another city owned property.

This would clear the way for the city to remove the current buildings in the plaza and make way for the new Walmart development.

The Black Hawk College Board of Trustees needs to approve the deal at their meeting on Thursday, February 21, 2013.
