Firefighters were called to a home in the 200 block of West Franklin in Monmouth, Ill., just before 8:00 a.m. When firefighters arrived, there was heavy smoke coming from the house.

According to reports, firefighters feared someone was still inside, so they went in, but later learned that everyone got out safely.

Fighting this fire wasn't easy for firefighters. The strong wind fanned the flames, making it difficult to extinguish.

Fire officials also said there was not a good water supply in that area, so water had to be trucked in.

In addition, one fire truck also iced up because of the cold weather.

The red cross is on the scene to assist the family.
