A Burlington, Iowa school teacher is accused of lying to police about a potential threat at school.
Lauren Moyers is a fifth grade teacher at Black Hawk Elementary School in Burlington.
Police say she lied to them about a potential threatening note discovered at the school. They say Moyers initially reported finding the note in the hallway, but when police checked surveillance video, they say she changed her story.
Officials say she stated that she was trying to protect a student.
Meanwhile, the school was put on lockdown for three hours.
Moyers is now on paid leave, charged with falsifying information to police.
