Earl Orton of rural Danville died while on his personal tractor.

While operating his tractor at the 22,00 block of Agency Road, it is believed that Orton suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the tractor, driving it into a ditch.

Deputies with the Des Moines County Sheriff's Office, Danville Fire and Rescue and Burlington Ambulance were dispatched, and found Orton in the ditch, slumped over.

A passerby came across Orton and the tractor and called 911.

Orton was transported to Great River Medical Center where he was pronounced dead from natural causes.
