    Iowa authorities are searching for a missing teenage girl they believe was kidnapped. Her family released a statement to the public.

UPDATE: The three people that were killed in the early morning bus crash have been identified by the Iowa State Patrol.

The Nissan that crashed into the bus was driven by Katherine Newton, 78, of Burlington, IA. Newton was killed as well as passengers Barbara Higgs, 75, of Burlington and Mark Kaltefleiter, 50, also of Burlington.

UPDATE: The Iowa State Patrol tells KWQC there were three fatalities in the accident that took place Thursday morning.

According to the accident report, the vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 61 and lost control on the ice covered road.

The vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the  L & M school bus.

The report states that all three occupants of the vehicle were fatalities and the bus driver was taken to the hospital.

Names of the victims are being withheld, pending family notification.

ORIGINAL STORY: There was a serious accident involving a school bus and vehicle just south of L & M High School on Highway 61.

Officials say the head-on collision happened around 7:25 a.m.

The Iowa State Patrol tells KWQC-TV6 there were no kids on the bus at the time of the accident.

Superintendent Mike VanSickle says the bus was leaving for it's morning route at the time of the accident.

VanSickle also says the bus driver is okay.
