IL Pension Reform Could Be Coming

The debate surrounding possible fixes for the Illinois pension mess continues.
A hearing was held today and lawmakers are expected to vote on proposed pension changes.

One provision calls for penalizing retirement before age 67 by reducing benefits. Another measure requires employees hired after January 2011 to pay an additional 5 percent toward their pensions.
Lawmakers said the expected votes are intended to gauge support for potential reforms.
