A 48-year-old Bettendorf man is dead after a single car crash, north of Cordova, Ill.

Rock Island Sheriff's Deputies responded to 206th Avenue North, a quarter mile west of Route 84, around 4:47 p.m., on Thursday, February 28, 2013.

Deputies say a 2005 Honda was headed eastbound on 206th Ave. N., when it left the road, and entered a ditch on the south side of the road. Officials say the vehicle struck an embankment and rolled several times.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rock Island County Coroner's Office.

Reports show the driver was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol does not appear to be involved.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.

The crash remains under investigation by the Rock Island County Sheriff's Department.
