PEORIA, Illinois - A plane carrying magician David Copperfield made an emergency landing in Peoria around three o'clock on Monday morning.

According to Copperfield's Twitter page, all on board are okay.

Copperfield tweeted that he was on his way to be on the Today Show in New York.

He tweeted a photo of the flight's emergency route showing that the plane had to turn around to land in Peoria after flying over the Quad Cities.

The magician says the plane started making a mysterious sound. He recorded it on his cell phone because the sound lasted for a while. Copperfield admits it was scary.

"We were up in a private plane flying to New York and we heard this sound, (plays growling sound on his cellphone) at 37,000 feet and it was very frightening for us, so we decided to land. We spiral landed in slowly and we are right here," said Copperfield.

Copperfield still appeared on the Today Show from via Skype.
