It's sixty minutes of almost non-stop action! A program that began more than forty years ago and is still quite popular. Group fitness. Welcome to Jazzercise.

Instructor Heather Hartley leads a class in Davenport. One of her most inspiring students is eighty seven year old Mary Costello. She is the oldest student in the class and has been involved in Jazzercise for about twenty seven years. Mary is a colon and breast cancer survivor and the matriarch of exercise in the group. Her classmates admire Mary's get up and go.

Mary says exercise really keeps her going, and people in the class say if she can do it at age eighty seven, they should be able to do it as well.

Also in this class is Raechel Lockrem. Two years ago when she started the class, Raechel weighed two hundred forty pounds. One year after joining, she had lost one hundred pounds. Raechel says she loves working out and since losing the weight, she is doing more bike riding, jogging and walking. She's thrilled about the weight loss and says everytime she lost a few pounds, she had to buy new clothes. She jokes that it got expensive but it's also so much fun.

The instructor says people are more committed to exercise programs when they have a partner or other people to exercise with. The class takes place at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Davenport.
