The following announcement was released Monday by the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office:

The Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the Jo Daviess County Highway Department, is asking all drivers to be aware of the winter storm warning currently in effect from 6P Monday through 6P Tuesday.  Should this winter storm develop as expected, we ask all drivers to stay off the road until the storm passes.   Additionally, the Sheriff's Office will only respond to emergency calls.  All non-emergency calls will be followed up on after the storm.  Do not to travel unless absolutely necessary.

If you do travel, any assistance by responding agencies may be severely delayed.
