News jobs are being promised for the Quad Cities with the expansion of Elliot Aviation. According to the office of Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, the private aviation company plans to add 50 new jobs and invest $1.8 million over the next two years for improvements at its location at the Quad City International Airport in Moline.
According to a news release from the governor's office, Elliott Aviation has 240 full-time employees and would grow to nearly 300 employees in the next two years. Elliott Aviation is headquartered in Moline with additional locations in Minneapolis and Des Moines. It provides aircraft maintenance and repair services as well as purchasing, refurbishing and reselling aircraft all over the world.
It's estimated the 50 new jobs will result in an annual economic impact of $9 million to the Quad City community. An economic development incentive package from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity helped advance this expansion. According to company officials, the project is slated to begin in spring of 2013.
