A man was arrested early March 11, for a shooting after a confrontation at a bar.

William D. McClendon, 21, of 1054 South Academy Street in Galesburg was booked for obstruction of justice.

At approximately 12:58 a.m. on March 11, Galesburg Police were called to 212 West Main Street to investigate a report of shots fired. Officers located a male victim of a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Galesburg Cottage Hospital where he was treated and released for a superficial gunshot wound to the left cheek.

The victim reported an earlier confrontation in Diamonds, a tavern at 240 West Main Street, with several bar patrons.  The confrontation appears to have continued outside the bar and to the parking lot at 212 West Main Street.

An arrest warrant has been obtained for Dominique D. McClendon for attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.  Bond was set $500,000.
