His love for bow hunting began more than fifty years ago. Ken Yeater from Reynolds continues to hit the bullseye. Ken is just the twentieth person to be inducted into the Iowa State Archery Association Hall of Fame.
Yeater preaches visualization and repetition, form and shot sequence, a positive, relaxed mental approach when stepping to the line. At the Davenport Valley Archers indoor range, he hits a target consistently from twenty yards away.
Ken received the Hall of Fame honor for his ability with a bow and arrow, and also for introducing literally thousands of people to the sport he loves so much. He gets tremendous satisfaction from helping other archers succeed and seeing them enjoy the sport.
Ryan Greenlief is a gifted archer who competes nationally. He nominated Ken for the Hall of Fame. Ryan says Yeater is always willing to share the knowledge he has about the sport.
Tom Stelk, who has know Ken Yeater for years, says his friend has Hall of Fame character. His dedication to the sport really shows.
Ken Yeater still shoots arrows seven days a week. He has received several awards and says it is quite an honor to be considered a quality person and a darn good archer! He received the Hall of Fame award in 2012.
