UPDATE

Sterling police conducted a traffic stop resulting in the arrest of a suspect they believe is connected to Saturday's television theft at the Sterling Walmart store.

Jonathan Woods, 36, is being charged with one count of burglary.

Whiteside County had also issued a warrant for Woods back in February after a retail theft incident at a Kroger's grocery store.

They are still looking for information regarding another TV theft, from the same Walmart, that happened around 3 o'clock on the morning of March 18th.

Police don't believe the cases are related, but if you know anything, you are asked to call Sterling police or the Whiteside County Crimestoppers.

Original story

Sterling Police are looking for a man they say walked away from the Sterling, Ill., Walmart Supercenter with a stolen 42" LG television.

The man was caught on video surveillance, walking into the Walmart on Saturday, March 16, 2013, around 8:30 p.m.

Shortly afterward, the man was photographed walking out of the store with the stolen TV in his cart.

Police say the man put the TV into a black two-door vehicle, possibly a Chevy Cavalier.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sterling Police at (815) 632-6640 or Crimestoppers at (815) 625-7867.
