It's spring break for some students, and to keep them busy, the Putnam Museum is hosting "Grossology" Week.

From 11 to 2 every day this week, kids can learn about the human body systems and functions.

They're able to take part in science experiments, like making fake blood and mucus, or seeing how a heart beats.

"These things that are all king of gross and icky to us, have some fascinating jobs to do in our bodies," VP of Education at the Putnam Museum, Nichole Myles said. "Snot for example is what keeps our lungs healthy. We would all have lung infections if we didn't have that mucus inside of us."

Grossology Week runs every day through Friday at the Putnam in Davenport, dovetailing with the "Bodies Revealed" exhibit.

It's free with your exhibit hall admission.
