The River Bandits are getting ready for spring and summer and today they announced some highlights of the season.

"We're going to have fireworks on every Friday home game," Director of Marketing and Promotions, Shane Huff said. "We're also going to have fireworks on two Saturdays, May 11th and August 31st."

It all starts Saturday April 6th with the first-ever Bandits 5k called "Race to Home."

"Let's bring it to the Quad Cities. How could we make this fun?"Director of Marketing and Promotions, Shane Huff said. "Well by guaranteeing a win and if we lose then we offer a ticket to a future game."

Along with that, they're trying several new events for their fans.

"It kind of builds that we've kind of discussed in the entire off season," River Bandits G.M. Harold Craw said. "And kind of gives us a way to kick off the season."

Another new incentive for lucky fans: "Flat Screen Family Sunday".

The home opener is Thursday April 11th at Modern Woodmen Park.
