Moline Students Creating "Quilt of Valor"

Updated:

Students in Moline are bringing comfort to injured soldiers.

Second and third graders at Lincoln Irving are taking on the "Quilt of Valor" project by putting their hand-prints on pieces of fabric to make into a quilt.

It looks a little messy in the process, but when it's done, the quilt will be sent to an injured soldier to express comfort and thanks.

"To realize that they're not the only one in the world, that they have a connection with people in their community, and I want them to have a sense of giving back," organizers said.

The students have also made blankets for people who have been displaced from their homes.
