The state of Illinois plans to invest over a quarter of a million dollars into a Milan, Ill., state facility.

Governor Pat Quinn announced on Friday, March 22, 2013, that $239,000 in capital funding will be spent for a rehabilitation project at an Illinois Department of Transportation maintenance and storage facility in Milan.

According to the governor's office, the winner of the contract was Laverdiere Construction Inc. of Macomb, the lowest of four competing bidders.

The project, part of the "Illinois Jobs Now!" program, includes rehabilitation of a salt storage dome. It's expected to start soon and is scheduled to be completed by late 2013.
