The devastating fire early Wednesday morning in rural Sherrard, Ill., took the lives of 5 people, including 4 children. The tragic loss has left many in the Quad City area wondering what they can do.

There are several businesses in Sherrard area that are accepting donations.

In New Windsor, K.J.'s cafe, Dan's Pub and The Curry Comb hair salon will have donation jars that customers can contribute to.

A fund has also been established at 1st Community Bank in Sherrard for Viager family and the Harker family. Both lost family members in the fire on March 27, 2013.

Monetary donations can be made at either the Sherrard or Aledo locations of 1st Community Bank.
