Davenport Shelter Seeks Assistance

It's a shelter in place to help the homeless in the QCA but Humility of Mary is looking for help of its own.

The emergency shelter opened in Davenport in 2008 and provides temporary housing and other services for the homeless.
However, it has shortfall between the operating budget and grants received.

"What we're wanting to do is sustain the shelter during what I'm calling kind of a lean period because we really have to have that funding gap met," President of Congregation of the Humility of Mary, Sister Johanna Rickl said. "The Sisters of Humility just really want to have the QC know that we have a commitment to keep this service going."

The Congregation of the Humility of Mary has set a goal of raising $250 thousand between now and April 30th of next year.
It will match dollar-for-dollar the first $100 thousand raised in the QCA.
