Arrest In Stolen Car Chase In Knox County

Knox County deputies have arrested two people after a series of thefts and a police chase.

It all started Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in East Galesburg. Deputies responded to a call that someone was attempting to sell stolen boat motors, and gasoline tanks at a tavern. The items were reportedly stolen from Henderson County.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Steven Ellis, fled in a vehicle reported stolen from Davenport. A pursuit began and the suspect drove to the 1600 block of Knox Rd. and 1700 North. That's where he drove off the road into a field and abandoned the vehicle, along with a female passenger. He ran into a wooded area on foot.
   
Police identified the woman as Darcy Lynn Ball and arrested her on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and stolen property. As for Ellis, police say he went on to confront a man and stole the man's truck. The truck was later found in Rock Island County on Wednesday April 3rd. Ellis was later found and arrested.
