It wouldn't be spring in the Quad Cities if there wasn't at least some threat of flooding. Because of recent rains, the Mississippi River is expected to push above flood stage later this week.

Part of the Quad Cities is already seeing impacts. In Davenport, S. Concord has been closed to traffic between West River Drive and Wapello Avenue. The city says high water signs have been posted on S. Concord between Utah Ave. and River Drive. The city says additional sections of those streets could be closed over the next week as the river rises.

Sandbags are being made available to residents on S. Concord and Enchanted Island at the Enchanted Inn. Residents can also request sandbags from the Davenport Public Works Department.

According to the National Weather Service, the Mississippi River in Rock Island is expected to crest on Saturday at 15.8 feet. Flood stage is 15 feet. For updates on river levels click this link on our website:
