Last year, KWQC-TV6 teamed up with the Better Business Bureau, DHCU Community Credit Union and Cintas to hold our first Secure Shred Event.
TV6 viewers brought their confidential documents to our studios at 805 Brady Street in Davenport, where the documents were safely shredded on the spot by a team of professionals from Cintas.
According to Cintas, a total of 57,300 pounds of paper was shredded that day, which means it saved 487 trees, 57 barrels of oil, 200,550 gallons of water and kept 86 cubic yards out of the landfill.
The shredded paper was then recycled and used to produce new paper and cardboard products.
Last year's event was such a huge success, we're doing it again. Make plans to drop off your old documents at our Secure Shred Event 2013!
This year KWQC-TV6 is inviting you to bring your documents to our studios on May 3, 2013, between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
To make the day run more smoothly, Cintas professionals ask that you to bring your documents in a brown paper bag. If you need one, you can pick one up at any DHCU Community Credit Union branch at the following locations:
East Moline 1101 13th Ave.
Geneseo 1090 South Congress
Milan 371 West Third St.
Moline SouthPark Mall
Bettendorf 3230 Ridge Pointe
Clinton 1330 N 2nd St.
Davenport 5354 Elmore Cir.
Then, simply bring your document-filled bags to the KWQC Broadcast Center and let us destroy them for you. It's that easy!
Secure Shred Event 2013 is brought to you by the Better Business Bureau, DHCU Community Credit Union, Cintas and your friends at KWQC-TV6.
