The state of Illinois is providing funding for a construction program.

It's a $12.62 billion program that will improve more than 2,000 miles of highway and replace or rehabilitate more than 500 bridges.

The new I-74 bridge is also listed for construction under this program.
"We have to have 21st century bridges that help the people get where they have to go when it comes to crossing the river," Governor Pat Quinn said. "We want to build another bridge in the Quad Cities connecting Illinois and Iowa."

$76.2-million will go towards the I-74 bridge.

The entire program is being labeled as the largest capital construction program in Illinois history.
