Some tense moments in Clinton Saturday, after a suspicious package is found that first responders say resembles an improvised explosive device.

Police responded to the area at about 2:30, after a postal worker called in the package lying on Main avenue near 12th street. Based on its shape and size, police closed down main, and asked nearby residents to evacuate their homes.

The State Fire Marshal's office responded. Investigators determined the package was harmless. No word at this point on what it actually was.
