The Diocese of Davenport says it has temporarily removed two priests from ministry after receiving complaints of past child sex abuse.

In a new release, the diocese says it received a report that Father Robert Harness, Pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport, inappropriately touched a minor sometime around 1990. The diocese forwarded the information to the Scott County Attorney, as part of an agreement to report such incidents.

Father Harness has been temporarily removed from ministry while an investigation is conducted. The diocese says it will meet with the leadership of the parish to assess its immediate needs and other issues that may arise.

In an unrelated report, the Diocese of Davenport says it also received a report that Father John Stack, Chaplain at Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, inappropriately touched minors during the 1980s. The Diocese has also reported this to the Scott County Attorney.

Father Stack has been temporarily removed from ministry during the investigation.
