I-Cash: Finding Owners Of Unclaimed Property In Illinois

If you live in Illinois, you may have money coming to you that you don't know about.

Illinois State Treasurer, Dan Rutherford will be in Milan, Ill., Tuesday, April 23, 2013, as part of the state's I-Cash program.

Rutherford is encouraging the people of Rock Island County to check and see if the state is holding any of their money or property.

Right now the state has $1.7 billion in unclaimed property. In Rock Island County alone, there are 56,350 owners of $11,733,283 in unclaimed property.

Some examples of unclaimed property include money from inactive savings accounts, unpaid wages or commissions, bill overpayments and safe deposit box contents.

In 2012 $129 million was returned.

Tuesday's event will take place at the Milan Municipal Building, Council Chambers, located at 405 East First Street in Milan from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
