The City of Moline, Ill. is taking one step closer to recovery from spring flooding.

River Drive will be open to traffic from 23rd to 55th Street starting Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Officials say the road should be open by 8:00 a.m.

Meanwhile,  according to the Davenport Public Works Department, westbound River Drive currently has a detour in place.

River Drive is closed from Iowa Street on the east to Perry Street for westbound motorists only, the detour route is as follows:

Westbound: River Drive to 4th Street, west on 4th Street to Harrison Street, south on Harrison Street, back to River Drive.

Large trucks should follow the signed detour route beginning on 4th Street at Iowa Street, north on Iowa Street to 5th Street, west on 5th Street to Western Avenue, south on Western Avenue back to River Drive.

Crews will be removing the Hesco barriers.

Traffic is expected to be back to normal on River Drive for the Wednesday, May 1, 2013, morning commute.
