Iowa-American Water Wants Rate Increase

Updated:

Iowa-American Water is asking the Iowa Utilities Board for a rate increase.

Since the last rate increase in 2011, Iowa-American says it will have invested approximately $26 million into the Clinton and Quad City areas by the end of 2013. But they say, more improvement is needed.

Iowa-American says it is asking the IUB for an increase in annual revenues of approximately $6,440,000 or 18%.

The proposed effective date is set for May 29, 2013, although the company is planning on establishing an interim rate, to be collected subject to refund, effective May 10, 2013.

As part of the process, the IUB will hold two customer comment meetings. Additional meetings may be scheduled as public interest warrants.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday June 3, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at Scott Community College in Bettendorf, Iowa.

The second is set for Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at the Clinton Moose Lodge in Clinton, Iowa.
