River Drive in Davenport has reopened after flood waters forced its closure for a couple weeks this spring. Crews have finally cleared off the road and removed the flood protection barriers.
But, the reopening comes on the same day the River Drive resurfacing project is set to resume.
The job was put on hold over the winter because of cold weather. Crews needed a constant temperature of at least 38 degrees to start asphalt work.
The project includes the resurfacing River Drive from Iowa Street to the east city limit.
After the morning commute on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Oneida to Mound Street.
River Drive is expected to fully reopen by mid July, 2013.
