An Alpha, Illinois woman pleads guilty and is sentenced in the shooting death of her husband. In May, Robin Atchinson, 29, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and obstruction of justice by destroying evidence.
     
Police say she shot Trevor Atchinson, 21, in the head.
     
He was on life support for two days but died.
     
She was sentenced to 26 years in prison.

Update: The Henry County Sheriff has released more information in the investigation of a shooting in Alpha, Illinois. On Wednesday, May 1, 2013, 29-year-old Robin Atchison was formally charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a weapon by a felon. Bond was set at a half million dollars.

The Sheriff says Mrs. Atchison is accused of shooting her husband, Trevor Atchison, in the head with a 22 caliber rifle. Mr. Atchison is still in critical condition at a Peoria hospital.

In addition, a man from Woodhull was arrested in connection with the case. Clint David Cole, 23, is charged with one count of unlawful sale of a firearm to a felon.

A woman has been arrested after a shooting in Alpha, Ill., early Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013.

According to the Henry County Sheriff's Office, 29-year old Robin Atchison was arrested on a charge of reckless discharge of a firearm.

Officers were called to a home on South First Street in Alpha early Tuesday morning to investigate the shooting.

The victim, whose name has not been released, suffered a single gunshot wound and is in the hospital in critical condition.
