Alpha, IL Shooting Victim Dies: Update

UPDATE: 5-6-13 The Henry County State's Attorney amended the charge of reckless discharge of a firearm against Robin Atchison to involuntary manslaughter of a family member. Mrs. Atchison is also charged with obstruction of justice.

The victim of a shooting in Alpha, Illinois has been taken off life support and pronounced dead at a Peoria hospital. The Henry County Sheriff reports that 21-year-old Trevor B. Atchison died on May 2nd.

Mr. Atchison was shot in the head with a .22 caliber rifle on the morning of Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at a home on S. First Street in Alpha. He was taken to the hospital and his wife, 29-year-old Robin Atchison, was taken to jail on a charge of reckless discharge of a firearm. She was later charged with possession of a weapon by a felon. The sheriff says additional charges are pending.

In addition, a man from Woodhull was arrested in connection with the case. Clint David Cole, 23, is charged with one count of unlawful sale of a firearm to a felon.
