The Fire Chief also told Amber the family got out okay, but had mere seconds to get out alive.

Crews are on the scene checking for hotspots and trying to put out a fire on the gas meter.

UPDATE:  5:30AM Firefighters think an LP tank caused the explosion at a house on 1200 block of 17th street in Moline.

The fire in Moline appears to be out, except for a small area on the east side of the home.  There is a gas meter on fire.

We do know everyone got out safely, but this fire has been a challenge to fight.  The house is starting to bow and there are worries it

UPDATE & New Pictures:  4:20AM KWQC's Amber O'Brien reports the house is a total loss.

Neighbors tell her explosions woke them.

The power is out in the area of the fire:  12th Avenue and 17th Street.

The pictures we have are from a viewer, Kurt Guldner

4:10AM:  Fire crews are on the 1200 block of 17th street in Moline fighting a large house fire.

If you take 12th Avenue to get to work, you're going to need to find another route this Monday morning, May 6, 2013.  12th Avenue is shut down between 16th and 19th Streets.  Police are asking that you avoid the area.

KWQC's Amber O'Brien is on the scene and will have live reports starting at 4:30am on KWQC, Channel 6.
