Flooding To Delay Ferris Wheel?

The flood waters are no longer surrounding Modern Woodman Park, but it still might delay plans for a ferris wheel.

Wednesday, May 8, 2013, the Davenport City Council will decide whether or not to put the million dollar plan into place this year, or delay it until next year.

The plan is to bring in a ferris wheel, carousel, and a zip line to the ball park.

Many are questioning if it's a good idea since the area has a history of flooding.

Davenport City Administrator Craig Malin says they wouldn't put one up, if they weren't prepared.

"The ferris wheel itself will be fully flood protected. We're not going to put a ferris wheel, a million dollar improvement to Modern Woodmen Park into harms way," says Malin.

The council is set to meet Wednesday at 5:30 P.M.
