Mississippi Ready To Escape It's Banks Again In Davenport

Updated:

As of Wednesday morning, May 8, 2013, the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities is just below flood stage at 14.87 feet. But, it's projected to rise above flood stage by Thursday evening.

Right now, the National Weather Service is projecting the river to reach 15.3 feet, by midday on Saturday.

At this level, high water will affect South Concord Street and Enchanted Island in Davenport.

It could also start to lap into LeClaire Park in the downtown area.

The Mississippi is projected to stay at that level in the Quad CIties for several days due to snow melt and rain up north.

At this point, the NWS is predicting the river to be back in it's banks in the Quad Cities by Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
