Synthetic Drug Bust In Galesburg

Three people have been arrested in an investigation into the sale and distribution of synthetic drugs and bath salts in the Galesburg area.

According to a news release, Galesburg police and members of the Peoria Multi-County Enforcement Group raided three locations including a business. They searched Main Street Games and Tobacco on E. Main Street as well as two other Galesburg locations. Items seized included bath salts, synthetic drugs, drug paraphernalia and $9,000 in cash as well as a computer and documents.

Officers arrested 78-year-old Donald Brackett of Galesburg, 55-year-old Richard Groom of Galesburg and 55-year-old Lisa Moyer of Kirkwood, Illinois on charges of unlawful distribution of misbranded substance.

Police say the investigation is still going on and additional charges pending. The Illinois Department of Revenue and United States Postal Inspection Service are also involved.
