Davenport School Board Considers Selling Unused Land and More

Updated:

The Davenport School Board is looking to sell off unused land to the city at school board meeting tonight, May 13th.

Many know the property as, "Goose Hollow," which is just west of Davenport Central High School.

School Board District Officials say it's too expensive to maintain.

If sold, the city would use the property for storm water retention.

There's also a public forum during the meeting about installing secured entrances into several schools.

Smart Intermediate, Sudlow Intermediate, Buffalo Elementary, Garfield Elementary, and Hayes Elementary are all up for secured entrance installation.

The school board meeting is scheduled for 7 P.M. at the Achievement Service Center on Brady Street, Davenport, IA.
